This is Kylie Knight of Plymouth.  She is a big girl and wants to learn to use the potty.

 

Page 6

 

This is Kylie’s Diaper box.  Every time Kylie dirties her diaper, Mommy takes out a clean one.

One day when Kylie was playing with Nicole, she thought, “I don’t want to wear diapers anymore. Nicole doesn’t wear a diaper, Nicole wears underpants.  It would be more fun to play without having to stop to get my diaper changed.”

So Kylie asked, “Mommy, can I wear underpants like Nicole?”

Mommy said, “If you want to wear underpants, you have to go to a toilet like a big person.”

“Okay, Mommy I will.  I promise,” said Kylie.  “Can you take my diaper off now?”

 

Page 12

 

Not yet.  First we have to go to the store to buy a potty.” Mommy said.

“Then we will buy underpants.”

"Then I will teach you how to use the potty,” Mommy said.

Kylie was so happy when her mommy brought her the new potty and underpants, she rushed right out to show Nicole.

Nicole was happy too.  Now Kylie wouldn’t have to stop playing just to go and get her diaper changed.

When Kylie went inside, Mommy took off Kylie’s diaper and showed her how to step into her new underpants.

“Don’t these look great! You look so big in your new underpants.” Mommy said.

Then Mommy said,  “This is how you pull down your underpants, all by yourself.”

Sitting on the potty was easy because Mommy sat nearby,

"I can’t, Mommy, I can’t," said Kylie.

“Why don’t I read a book to you?”  Mommy asked.  “Then maybe you will be able to use the potty like a big person.”

Just as Mommy finished reading the book, Kylie went tinkle in her potty for the very first time.  She was so happy!

“Very good, Kylie!” said Mommy. Then she gave Kylie a big hug and a kiss.

“I like flushing the toilet!”

“I like growing up and learning new things.”

But best of all, Kylie likes hearing Mommy telling everyone,  “No more diapers for Kylie, she is a big girl now.”
